Cultivating A Heart Of Humility (Proverbs 11:2)

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 11:2 (KJV)

Pride will often lead to hasty actions and quick decisions. Pride tends to distort our motivations and it clouds our judgement; it keeps us from acting out of true wisdom. God delights in our humility, for it is the humble heart that is most open and receptive to wisdom. When we look to God for wisdom, when we remain open and teachable, knowing that God can speak to us in a variety of ways, we can be certain that we will never be put to shame. Cultivating a heart of humility is crucial for us to live out the life of purpose that God has prepared for us.

Trusting God No Matter What (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

May we commit to trusting in the Lord with all our heart regardless of the season we find ourselves in. When we trust Him no matter what—whether things are going well or whether we find ourselves in a difficult season—we will find that He will faithfully lead us every step along the way. Let us be certain that the deeper we go in our trusting God, the greater will be the outpouring of His goodness and blessing upon our lives.

The Purity Of God’s Word (Proverbs 30:5)

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 30:5 (KJV)

When we put our trust in God, we will be guided, protected, shielded, comforted, and empowered to fulfill all He is calling us to do. Trusting God means we trust in His Word. Each day we get to choose to either get into agreement with the word of man or with the Word of God. Let us be sure to agree with what God’s Word declares about us in Christ, and we will see how pure the Word is as it proves itself to be true in our lives.

Trusting God (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

In times of difficulty, when things don’t make sense, the most powerful thing we can do is to simply purpose in our hearts that we will trust God no matter what. When we know that His plans for us are for good, and that in fact all things work together for good for those who love God, we can then acknowledge that in each and every moment, the Lord is guiding and directing our steps. We can rest assured that our challenges merely become stepping stones that are shaping us and preparing us for our magnificent destiny in the Lord.
