Trusting God With The Unknown (Genesis 12:1-2)

Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.”

Genesis 12:1-2 (NKJV)

God told Abram to leave behind the familiar, to step out of his comfort zone into the unkonwn. God has a promised land for every single one of us; there is a dream He has placed in our heart, and the journey there is one of faith and grace. When we are willing to trust God with the unknown, we will find that He will lead us into places of greater blessing, and He will give us more opportunities to be a blessing to others. Let us resolve in our hearts today that we will follow wherever the Lord desires to lead us, trusting in His plan and purpose for our lives.

Come Unto Me And Rest (Matthew 11:28)

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Jesus is telling us that we do not need to bear the burdens and responsibilities of day to day life by ourselves. He is inviting us to come unto Him, and to bring Him into every area of our lives. As we accept this invitation, we find a rest that fills our soul; there is a calm that enters into our heart, regardless of whether we find ourselves in the valley or on the mountaintop. We know that wisdom is available to us every step along the way, that all things are working together for our good, and that the Lord is faithfully leading us into all that He has called us to be.
