Working For Jesus (Colossians 3:23-24)

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)

We are called to do everything unto the Lord. Rather than seeing ourselves as working for people, let us understand that we are working for Jesus. He is the one who has placed us in our current position, whether it be a job or a business. And so let us perform our every task with excellence, knowing that our reward will ultimately come from Him. When we show up every day with this spirit of excellence, no matter where we may currently find ourselves, we may rest assured that we will be blessed and that God will use us to be a blessing to others.

Feeding Our Born Again Spirit (John 6:63)

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 6:63 (KJV)

The Word of God is spirit and it is life. The Word is the spiritual food for our born again spirit. The more that we meditate on the Word and get it down into our spirit, the stronger and more alive our spirit becomes. In other words, when our inner person is fully fed and nourished by the Word of God, we will find ourselves living more out of who we are in Christ than out of who we used to be in the flesh. And so one of the most important things for us to do is to daily feed our born again spirit so that it may be strengthened, enabling us to grow in our walk with the Lord, and to truly become receptive and available to all that Jesus intends to do in us and through us.
